Shigen Amawaka (天若あまわか止し弦げん, Amawaka Shigen^?) was the eighth head of Amawaka House, father of Seigen Amawaka and the paternal grandfather of Mayura Otomi.

Appearance

Shigen resembles Seigen Amawaka with the prominent Amawaka yellow hair streak, but the only difference is that he was older with heavy wrinkles.

Personality

Shigen had a distorted personality. He was quite ruthless, as he showed no remorse in executing exorcists as the head of Ritsu, even wanted to kill more innocent people. Shigen could be very petty, as he was jealous of his son Seigen being chosen by Byakko, rather than being proud of this achievement.

Powers and Abilities

• Enchanted Gears: Being an Exorcist, Shigen is able to use Enchanted Gears to help him combat Impurities when fighting in Magano.

• Kokuren Shuko (黒煉手甲, Kokuren Shukō^?, lit. "Forged Black Gauntlets"): A common skill among Amawaka House. By using the Evil Claws Charm (邪爪顕符, Jasō Genpu^?), the user dons a pair of black gauntlets with long claws. It has the ten percent of the Byakuren Koho power.
  • Tobizume (飛爪, Tobizume^?): A long-range attack where the user shoots the claws out of their gauntlets.
    • Hiso Shuukei: Kogoku - Akuru (飛爪終景 虎獄・悪樓, Hisō Shūkei: Kogoku - Akuru^?, lit. "Flying Claw Last Scene: Tiger Prison - Evil Coat"): Secret technique. Shigen shoots all the claws of of the Kokuren Shuko towards the enemy.
